Electronic Press Kit (EPK) Template
A single-page, copyable EPK structure for indie rappers pitching venues, publicists, blogs, sync agents, and playlist curators.
What this is
A one-page Electronic Press Kit template — the working document you send when a booker, blog, publicist, or sync agent asks "send me your info." It is not a website. It is not a PDF with three photos and a mission statement. It is a single scannable page (hosted at a public link) that answers, in under 30 seconds: who you are, what you sound like, what you have done, and where to send the money.
The reason most EPKs get ignored is length. Booking agents open dozens of pitches a day and read the first line of each. A tight, well-structured one-pager wins over a 12-slide PDF every time. The eight blocks below are the ones that professional bookers, publicists, and sync supervisors actually use to make a yes/no decision.
Host it as a public page on your own domain (e.g., yourname.com/epk) or a simple Notion/Carrd link. Do not gate it behind a form. Never send it as an attachment.
When to use it
Send the EPK link in the first email to any venue, promoter, publicist, blog editor, sync agent, playlist curator, or festival submission. The rule of thumb: if someone asks "can you send more info?" your reply should be one link, not seven.
Common mistakes
- Building it as a downloadable PDF — half of bookers open email on a phone and will not download anything.
- Leading with a photo instead of a name and tagline. The reader needs to know who they are looking at in one glance.
- Using a 300-word bio when 150 words would do. The EPK is a summary, not the story.
- Linking to SoundCloud private tracks that require a login — assume the reader will not create an account.
- Including press quotes from your friends' Instagram DMs. Only cite named outlets or verified people.
- Missing a contact block, or listing four email addresses with no routing. One inbox per function.
- Forgetting to update it — an EPK with 2023 stats in 2026 signals a dead project.
How to use it
- Read your existing 150-word bio (see the Artist Bio Template) and paste it into the bio block first. If you do not have one yet, write it before starting the EPK.
- Pick your three strongest tracks. Not your newest — your strongest. Streaming links only (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube). Include one embedded player if the platform allows.
- Pull three press quotes with the outlet name and a link to the piece. If you have none, replace the section with playlist adds or a co-sign quote instead. Do not fabricate.
- Add two live footage links — one full song, one short-form (Instagram Reel, TikTok, or 60-second clip). If you have no live footage yet, film one clean phone-recorded performance in a room with decent light before publishing the EPK.
- Add a high-resolution press photo link (horizontal orientation preferred, at least 2000px wide) hosted on Dropbox or Google Drive with view access enabled.
- List socials with follower counts only if they are north of ~3,000 per platform. Otherwise just list the handles.
- Route contact by function: management, booking, press, sync. If you handle it yourself, use one professional email — not the Gmail you had in high school.
- Publish it at a memorable URL and keep that URL stable. If you rebuild your site, redirect the old link.
Study the EPKs of artists a tier or two above you. Bandcamp artist pages, the "press" tabs on rapper.com-style personal sites, and label-hosted one-sheets are all fair reference. Do not clone — extract structure.

Nova James is a Baltimore rapper whose work sits
between Roc Marciano's cold minimalism and the warmer,
live-band feel of early Little Brother. She writes in
tight, image-first verses over sample-driven production,
most of it self-sourced from her father's jazz collection.
Her 2024 debut "Room Tone" earned features in Passion
of the Weiss and DJBooth, and its lead single "Wire
Money" was added to Spotify's Fresh Finds Hip-Hop. In
2025 she followed with the EP "Second Sitting," which
landed on Bandcamp Daily's Best Hip-Hop and pulled a
public co-sign from The Alchemist. She has opened
regional dates for Boldy James and Navy Blue.
Her next full-length, "Ledger," produced entirely by
Meech Wells, arrives October 2026.
